Homes Tasmania is continuing to support more Tasmanians into housing while progressing new developments that will deliver additional homes where they are needed most.

May 2026 Dashboard

The latest Homes Tasmania Dashboard shows that 75 households achieved a housing outcome during May through social housing, affordable rentals, home ownership initiatives and other housing assistance programs.

Work is also continuing to increase housing supply across Tasmania. In May, former Department of Defence land at Warrane was rezoned to Inner Residential through a Housing Land Supply Order, paving the way for a proposed 75-home social and affordable housing development in one of Hobart's established suburbs.

The latest National Social Housing Survey also found Homes Tasmania tenants are more satisfied with their homes than the national average, with Tasmania achieving the highest satisfaction ratings in Australia for thermal comfort, energy efficiency and water efficiency.

These results reflect ongoing investment in both delivering new homes and improving existing homes to make them more comfortable, energy efficient and affordable to live in.
