The November Dashboard demonstrates Homes Tasmania’s actions to deliver more housing opportunities for Tasmanians.
As at November 2025, a total of 4 543 homes have been completed towards our commitment of 10 000 social and affordable homes by 2032. This includes 2 176 units of social housing and supported accommodation, 1 016 affordable rentals, 1 119 affordable home purchases, 113 affordable lots of land and 119 units of crisis accommodation.
In November, we helped provide a home for 59 households, including 29 social or affordable rental homes and 26 home purchases through the MyHome shared equity program.
Among the new homes were three two-bedroom modular units in Scottsdale (pictured above) that are now providing homes for Tasmanian families on the Housing Register.
Last month, the MyHome price cap for newly built homes and house and land packages was lifted to $800 000, from $750 000, helping more new builds to qualify for MyHome, and encouraging more people to build their new home.
And we are seeing early positive results, with nearly two-thirds of the MyHome purchases in November – 17 out of 26 – for the construction of a new home or a house and land package.
Also during November, we released a Request for Information to help inform the future management of our Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA) portfolio.
Exploring SDA management options will help deliver better housing outcomes for people with disability, ensure compliance with NDIS requirements, and enable access to available NDIS capital funding in Tasmania. It will also ensure that Tasmanians with disability will continue to have access to quality, affordable and appropriate housing.
Our pipeline of works includes 5 457 homes that are in all stages of delivery – from project planning and seeking pre-approvals, through to preparing land and active construction – ensuring we can continue to deliver more new homes and more housing opportunities for Tasmanians.
