The April Dashboard demonstrates Homes Tasmania’s ongoing commitment to deliver more housing opportunities meeting the diverse needs of Tasmanians.

A total of 4 381 homes and lots of land have been completed towards the target of 10 000 social and affordable homes by 2032 at end of April 2025.
This included 2 055 units of social housing and supported accommodation, 882 affordable rentals, 914 affordable home purchases, 411 affordable lots of land and 119 units of crisis accommodation.
In April, work was completed on two 4-bedroom homes in Rokeby for high priority applicants from the Housing Register. Homes Tasmania provided funding of $360 000 for these two homes under the Community Housing Growth Program (CHGP).
The Tasmanian Housing Strategy 2023-2043 recognises that while demand is strongest for smaller homes, there is also a pressing need for larger homes that can accommodate extended families or vulnerable families and people escaping family violence.
These two new homes, managed by Mission Australia Housing – Tasmania are now tenanted with families from the Housing Register.
We continue working to deliver even more new housing opportunities across Tasmania, with 654 social and affordable homes and lots of land in our pipeline of works and many more projects being planned.
Homes Tasmania is improving the reporting in the monthly Dashboard with a significant improvement to the data classifying the liveability standards of new social housing dwellings.
Improvements in data recording show that, for dwellings where data is available, 1 488 out of 1 810 new homes (82 per cent) delivered since 1 October 2020 have been built to the Silver level or above of the Livable Housing Design Guidelines.
Building our new homes to meet these guidelines provides future flexibility and adaptability for modifications and ensures the homes will continue to meet the needs of tenants into the future.
The Dashboard includes detailed reporting on completed homes and land, and the funding model and pipeline, including projects in the concept phase.
