Homes Tasmania is inviting developers, landowners and industry partners to promote new opportunities to increase housing supply and support more Tasmanians into home ownership.

Residential Land Opportunities

We have today released a Request for Information (RFI) to help identify residential land and development opportunities that can contribute to the delivery of new housing across Tasmania.

The RFI will help us identify shovel-ready residential subdivision projects and land suitable for future residential development that can help bring more homes and housing options to market.

Increasing housing supply remains a key priority as Tasmania continues to experience housing affordability and availability challenges. By engaging directly with the development sector, Homes Tasmania will be able to identify opportunities that can be delivered in practical timeframes and contribute to a greater diversity of housing options across the state.

The RFI provides an opportunity for developers and landowners to showcase projects and sites that have the potential to support future housing outcomes, including opportunities for first home buyers and other Tasmanians seeking to enter the housing market.

Information received through the process will help Homes Tasmania better understand current market opportunities, identify projects that align with housing priorities, and explore potential partnerships and delivery approaches that can accelerate housing delivery.

The initiative reflects Homes Tasmania’s commitment to working collaboratively with industry to increase the supply of residential land and housing across Tasmania.

Developers and landowners with suitable projects or land holdings are encouraged to participate and help shape housing outcomes that will benefit Tasmanians now and into the future.
