The project will deliver 10 new homes at 18-20 Ellison Street for women on the Housing Register. The development will include six two-bedroom units and four three-bedroom units, helping address strong demand for social housing in the Launceston area.
Launceston is the highest-ranked location of preference for people on the Housing Register, highlighting the importance of increasing housing supply in the region.
The new homes will be designed to provide safe, comfortable and accessible living environments for women of different ages and abilities. Each unit will be built to the Silver level of the Livable Housing Design Guidelines, ensuring the homes are adaptable and support residents to live independently.
Sustainability is also a key feature of the development. The homes will achieve a 7-star energy rating, helping reduce heating and cooling costs while lowering environmental impact.
