Jeanette Riley has been the proud tenant of her home in Burnie for about 27 years.
“My youngest daughter moved back with me at that time so I needed a bigger house to live in,” Jeanette said.
“Having a stable home for myself has helped me be able to raise my family and provide a home for them as well.”
An avid gardener, Jeanette loves the area she is living in.
“I’m really happy living where I am. My closest neighbours were my neighbours when we were kids so now we’re living next to each other again,” she said.
Having a secure home also provided a foundation for Jeanette’s daughter when she was growing up and she is now giving back and helping others in housing need.
“Another great thing is that my daughter is now a tenancy officer. I moved into a Homes Tasmania house because of her and now she works there!”
