For Tasmanians needing housing assistance over the Easter break, help is still available.
If you or someone you know is experiencing family violence and requires immediate help, call police on Triple Zero (000) or the Family Violence Response and Referral Line on 1800 633 937.
Housing Connect, Tasmania’s statewide entry point for housing assistance, will continue to provide support throughout the Easter period. People with an urgent housing need can access emergency accommodation by calling 1800 800 588, 24 hours a day.
This support may include placement in crisis or transitional accommodation; short-term stays in hotels, motels or caravan parks; or access to an overnight bed in a Safe Space facility. Assistance is available for individuals, couples and families.
Housing Connect offices across the state will be closed for face-to-face services on public holidays.
Homes Tasmania offices will close at 4pm on Thursday 2 April and reopen at 9am on Wednesday 8 April.
Tenants who require urgent maintenance during this time can still access assistance by calling 1300 665 663, with help available 24 hours a day.
