Homes Tasmania has launched a new initiative that will deliver more quality, well-designed homes for sale in southern Tasmania.

Qualified builders are invited to participate in an Expression of Interest (EOI) for the Huntingfield Land to Build Program.

Huntingfield will be developed as a high-quality, subdivision offering house and land packages that meet contemporary housing design standards developed specifically for the site.

As work on the first lots for sale nears completion, the final step is to select builders that can be part of the Land to Build Program, offering predesigned house and land packages on allocated lots within a new master-planned Huntingfield community.

Builders who are enthusiastic about delivering a well-designed and vibrant community, prioritising quality, efficiency and affordability with a suite of base home designs tailored to types of lots available on the site are encouraged to express interest in the program.

The Huntingfield subdivision will include a range of lot sizes – supporting terraces, townhouses and detached houses – with an average lot size of 450 m².

It will include small lot housing, a first in Tasmania, and a nationally recognised strategy to achieve affordable home ownership where increasing land values are preventing many people from entering from the housing market.

Successful builders would gain priority access to land and benefit from a streamlined pathway to market.

Home ownership assistance will be available to buyers through the successful MyHome shared equity program, which reduces the upfront and ongoing costs of building and owning a home.

The EOI is open from Wednesday, 13 August 2025 until 2 pm Wednesday, 24 September 2025.
