Homes Tasmania continues to boost the supply of land and homes so we can help more Tasmanians into a home of their own.
These new social housing homes in Ravenswood were completed in June.
The latest Homes Tasmania Dashboard shows that 65 households secured a housing outcome in June through a new social housing home, an affordable rental property, or support to purchase their own home or land.
We are continuing to expand housing opportunities through the Huntingfield land release with 13 lots released during the month, including 10 house-and-land packages for purchase and three lots that will be developed for social and affordable housing.
Construction also commenced on the first new homes, marking a significant milestone for the site. Of the 43 Stage 1 lots released to date, 11 have settled, eight are under offer, and 24 remain available for purchase.
Momentum at Huntingfield will continue throughout the year, with around 40 additional lots scheduled for release later in 2026. The mix of land-only lots and house-and-land packages will provide greater choice and flexibility for Tasmanians looking to build their own home.
We also lodged a development application for a new 52-home social and affordable housing development on Binalong Road, Mornington, which includes the refurbishment of the existing 12 homes on the site.
Located close to transport, shops, education and employment, the development has been designed to provide comfortable, accessible and energy-efficient homes that will deliver more safe, secure and affordable housing opportunities for Tasmanians.
