The September Dashboard shows how Homes Tasmania is providing more housing opportunities for Tasmanians.
A total of 4 422 homes have been delivered towards our commitment of 10 000 social and affordable homes by 2032 as at 30 September 2025.
Every one of these 4 422 homes has a street address and has helped 4 422 Tasmanian households, including through 2 150 units of social housing and supported accommodation, 981 affordable rentals, 1 063 affordable home purchases, 109 affordable lots of land and 119 units of crisis accommodation.
During September, 64 Tasmanian households will achieve a housing outcome from the new homes delivered.
These new homes include eight units in Cambridge – three x 2-bedroom, four x 3-bedroom and one x 4-bedroom units – that are homes for Tasmanians from the Housing Register.
The mix of one- and two-storey homes were built for Homes Tasmania by St Joseph Affordable Homes. The units are managed by Loreto Community Housing.
In September, we invited people to register their interest in purchasing land in the Huntingfield land release. This development will provide more home ownership opportunities for people in southern Tasmania as well as future social homes.
The first 33 lots in Stage 1 will go to market before the end of the year with the 170 remaining lots in Stage 1 to become available from early 2026.
Pre-designed house and land packages will simplify the building process for new homeowners, improving certainty around planning approvals and ensuring Huntingfield remains a high-quality housing development.
Anyone interested in purchasing land in the Huntingfield subdivision – either in the initial release or in future stages – is encouraged to register their interest at www.huntingfieldtas.com.au.
Homes Tasmania’s pipeline of works includes 5 578 homes that are in all stages of delivery, from project planning and seeking pre-approvals, through to preparing land and active construction. This ensures we can continue to deliver more new homes and more housing opportunities for Tasmanians.
