Stages 2 and 3 of the Huntingfield land release will deliver around 250 lots of land and complete the 460-lot subdivision.

It will also include developing the recreational spaces and rehabilitating and revegetating land to create healthy public bushland close to the subdivision.

Homes Tasmania referred Stages 2 and 3 for assessment under the Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act 1999 due to the potential for the project to affect ‘matters of national environmental significance’, most notably the endangered forty-spotted pardalote.

A Notification of Approval from this assessment was issued on 21 September 2022.

Feedback from this consultation, and direction by the Australian Government, helped inform changes to the master plan of the site and also resulted in changes to the Stage 1 design.

Read the EPBC referral documents:

NOTE: The referral plan indicates the area of land subject to the referral. It does not represent the master plan of the subdivision.

There will be further consultation opportunities as work on Stages 2 and 3 progresses.
