A new subdivision planned for Ravenswood will deliver 100 lots.
Homes Tasmania is committed to increasing social and affordable housing and releasing land for residential development.
Most of the new lots of land will initially be made available for affordable home purchase under the MyHome shared equity program.
MyHome helps eligible Tasmanians buy their own homes by reducing the upfront costs and the ongoing mortgage repayments.
Location
The proposed 12.6 ha subdivision site is on land at 50 Wildor Crescent, Ravenswood, which was transferred to Homes Tasmania from the Department of Natural Resources and Environment Tasmania in June 2023 under a Housing Land Supply Order.
Action on the subdivision
The Launceston City Council approved the subdivision in November 2023.
A tender for construction of the subdivision will be advertised on the Tasmanian Government's tenders website in April 2024.
Construction is expected to begin in mid-2024 with the first lots of land to be available for purchase in 2025.
