Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA) provides homes and support for people with significant functional impairment or very high support needs.

If you are a National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) participant, SDA can provide housing with specific design features or amenity to meet your needs.

Eligibility

To be eligible for a specialist disability accommodation home, you will need to have SDA in your NDIS support plan.

How do I apply?

In Tasmania, Homes Tasmania is the biggest provider of SDA. Homes Tasmania leases homes to supported independent living (SIL) providers who rent the homes to people with SDA in their NDIS support plan.

Vacancies for SDA homes are managed by each SIL provider.

To find specialist disability accommodation in your area, you will need to talk to your local area coordinator and your support coordinator so they can help you find the house that is best for you.
